A play off a classic blend that highlights our favorite vineyards and varieties of the SLO Coast. Rhone varieties from these coastal vineyards have the capacity to produce wines that balance beautifully between richness and elegance, and between fruitiness and savory. Grenache adds brightness and a red fruit core to the darker more peppery Syrah in an inverse of the traditional blends from the Southern Rhone. Native yeast fermentation and aging in neutral French oak barrels contribute to a wine of complexity and freshness. This wine finishes long with refreshing acidity and salty dark chocolate flavors. A perfect match for BBQ, hearty stews, bonfires, and sharing with friends.

Open-knit and expansive, with striking aromatic brilliance, the 2018 Syrah-Grenache is absolutely compelling. Imagine the perfume of Grenache with the darker fruit and structure of Syrah, all with a touch of new oak that adds raciness. This is such a delicious wine.

Two-thirds Syrah and one-third Grenache, the 2018 Syrah-Grenache was fermented with 35% stems and spent 18 months in neutral oak. It has beautiful notes of creamy blackberry fruits, a touch of vanilla, lots of peppery game, and a medium-bodied, rounded, nicely balanced and textured style on the palate.
